Sunday Message for February 4, 2007
Become a Deliberate Creator
It says in (Genesis 1:1-3)
"In the beginning God created the heavens and
the earth," And then God said,
"Let there be light"; and there was light." He made day and night.
He made the sky. He created the dry land and the seas. He
then created all the trees and vegetation. He made the sun, the moon,
and the stars. He created the birds and the fish. He created all
the animals and bugs and every type of living thing. And then he created
humankind in his image and likeness.
God did all of this intentionally. God is a deliberate creator. He
knew exactly what he wanted and he created it. His mind only dwells on
the good – therefore he can only create that which is good and pleasing.
CAUSE & EFFECT
In (Ephesians 2:10) it says,
“For we are what he has made us, created in Christ
Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand to be our way of life.” God made us to be co-creators with
Him; this is supposed to be our way of life. But we tend to be haphazard creators. We
forget that we are creating all the time and we allow ourselves to have all
kinds of negative thoughts and feelings.
Every word from our mouth and every thought in our heart creates an effect
in this world. If you look around at the things happening in this world you
can see what we, as humankind, have been thinking and believing. If we
look around at the things happening in our lives, we can see what we personally
have been thinking and believing.
Nothing happens by chance. Everything in the Universe has an identifiable
cause. When something appears to occur by chance, it means that the cause is
unrecognized.
But causes aren’t creators of events or circumstances.
They’re catalysts in a long chain of them, usually driven by underlying
beliefs about life and “the way that it is.” God is the original
First Cause and creator of everything.
So we have to look behind our beliefs if we are looking for a cause. For instance,
if you believe that you won’t be hired for your dream job, you’ll
never apply for it. Yet, this belief is only one factor in a chain of
causes. For instance, where did the belief come from? If you say, “Well
my parents modeled it for me,” then there’s still the question
of where your parents acquired this belief, so there’s no point in tracing
through chains of events in search of a primary cause. The important and more
helpful point is to develop an awareness of the principle of cause and effect
in your own life.
Without this awareness, you may be unduly influenced by external factors, such
as allowing yourself to be influenced by the race consciousness of the world. Hermetics
says that you can’t change or stop the principles and laws. You
can, however, use higher will to prevail against lower will.
A conscious awareness that you are a co-creator with God, combined with intention
and practice, helps you rise above external influences. The
Kybalion says that this conscious awareness helps us to become
“movers in the game of life instead of pawns, Causes instead of Effects.”
This is being a deliberate creator, instead of just taking what comes along.
So, notice any strong thoughts or feelings that you have throughout the day. These
can be thoughts and feelings that seem to just
“pop in” of their own accord, or ones that are consciously manifested. Be
aware of recurring thoughts and feelings, especially those involving strong
feelings. Because thoughts with strong feelings behind them tend to create
more intensely in your life. Do you have a strong hatred for anything
or anyone? Give it up now.
As you notice these intense thoughts and feelings, immediately visualize a
mental control panel. You have a money pole with Prosperity at the top
and Poverty at the bottom. To attract more money, you can adjust your vibration
upward by visualizing that the lever is at the highest possible location along
the pole. Since this pole is in your mind, it’s your creation;
therefore, it’s your personal Money Pole.
Of course, you can also imagine a pole that controls your beliefs about money
and other life areas. Keep your levers high atop these poles to release
old, limiting beliefs about money, love, and such.
Everything that you desire has a pole assigned to it, whether it’s health,
a happy marriage, inner peace, or any other topic. Imagine this whole
series of poles with sliding levers, similar to a sound mixing board in a recording
studio, or like an airplane’s control panel. Each of those levers controls
your finances, relationships, health, and other life areas.
Set up a pole in your mind for money that goes from Poverty at the bottom to
Prosperity at the top.
Set up one for health that goes from Illness at the bottom to Perfect Health
at the top. Then one for love that goes from Loneliness at the bottom
to True Love at the top. Do one for your career that goes from Meaningless
Work at the bottom to a Fulfilling Career at the top. You might set up
one pole for psychic abilities that goes from Blocked at the bottom to Clear
at the top. Make it individual to you and set up poles for every area
of your life that needs addressing.
Take a moment right now to visualize your inner control panel. Where
are the levers positioned along the poles? To improve any situation,
mentally move the lever higher up the pole (and to the top, ideally). Check
your poles regularly, or if you ever feel upset, to ensure that they haven’t
slid downward. This gives a whole new meaning to “staying on top”!
As you have intense thoughts, observe whether the pole levers have slid
downward, or whether they remain upward, in response to your strong feelings
and thoughts. Use your will to lift any levers that have slid down. The
action of keeping your levers high is a cause that yields desirable effects. It
is the key to Divine magic!
It says in The Kybalion, “Every
Cause has its Effect; every Effect has its Cause; everything happens according
to Law; Chance is but a name for Law not recognized; there are many planes
of causation, but nothing escapes the Law.”
THE SEVEN SACRED PRINCIPLES
According to The Kybalion there are seven principles
that we need to be aware of to be deliberate creators. The first is called Mentalism. The axiom
is: “The All is Mind; The Universe
is Mental.” This principle explains that the entire
Universe (including yourself and your life) is composed of an all-encompassing
Divine Mind, its thoughts, and thought forms.
The Kybalion refers to the Creator,
or God, as “The All.” God is Mind, which means infinite and
unerring intelligence, wisdom, and creativity. Since God is everywhere,
Mind is everywhere. You live inside this omnipresent Mind of God. Your
true mind (your higher self) is an extension and a creation of the Divine Mind.
The second principle is called Correspondence.
The axiom is: “As above, so below;
as below, so above.” The world is physical, mental,
and spiritual and each of these three planes operates by the same spiritual
laws. By applying spiritual laws on all three planes you can elevate
your consciousness and life to higher planes of existence.
The third principle is called Vibration. The
axiom is: “Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates.” Because
of Quantum Physics we now know this to be scientifically provable. Everything
in the Universe moves, even so-called inanimate objects that are filled with
vibrating atoms and the energy of God. The difference between the varying
planes of existence is merely in their vibrational rate of movement. We
apply this principle by accelerating or decelerating the vibrational rate of
objects or situations that we wish to attract, change, or banish.
The fourth principle is call Polarity. The
axiom is: “Everything is Dual; everything has poles; everything
has its pair of opposites; like and unlike are the same; opposites are identical
in nature, but different in degree; extremes meet; all truths are but half-truths;
all paradoxes may be reconciled.”
This explains that every experience and choice is the same in truth. What
appears to be opposite is actually the same, but with different degrees of
the same ingredients. Prosperity and poverty are not opposites. They
are merely ends of the same pole, vibrating at different rates. Each
situation in your life has such a pole, with extremes at either end, and vibrational
increments in between.
We use this principle to transmute unwanted situations and emotions into something
more desirable, merely by changing their vibration to the highest end of each
pole.
The fifth principle is called Rhythm. The
axiom is: “Everything flows, out
and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing
manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure
of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates.” If you
think about it, you know that the Universe operates in precise and predictable
rhythms. If you allow these rhythms to master you, then your moods and
life will fluctuate up and down. However, by mastering the rhythms, you
become immune to downward turns in emotions or life experiences.
The sixth principle is called Cause and
Effect. The axiom is: “Every Cause has its Effect; every Effect has its Cause;
everything happens according to Law; Chance is but a name for Law not recognized;
there are many planes of causation, but nothing escapes the Law.”
We live in a perfectly ordered Universe, and nothing happens by chance or accident. There’s
always a Cause behind every Effect. Life mastery occurs when you become
a conscious Cause of the Effects you desire, instead of being carried along
by the wills or desires of others. You can use this principle to affect
healings and to be a deliberate creator.
The seventh principle is called Gender. The
axiom is: “Gender is in everything; everything has its Masculine
and Feminine Principles; Gender manifests on all planes.” This
is not about male-female genders as in human bodies. It refers to the
masculine and feminine energies. Each person has both energies within
them, since the entire Universe is composed of both. These energies are
equally powerful and interdependent upon each other to form creations.
Female energy is magnetic and attracting. Male energy is electric and
creating. To manifest, you must either attract your desire or create
it. To enjoy a steady flow of abundance, understand and work with the
steady flow of giving and receiving, as this principle teaches.
So don’t allow race consciousness to sway your
thinking and feeling. Become a conscious, deliberate creator in your
life. Create the heaven and earth that you truly envision in your
highest spiritual thoughts. Create light, or enlightenment in your
life, and let your light shine for others to see. Become the image
and likeness of God. (Ephesians 2:10) it says, “For
we are what God has made us, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which
God prepared beforehand to be our way of life.”
